Al maestro del coro. Salmo de David. No te quedes callado, Dios de mi alabanza,
2
que las bocas malvadas y embusteras se han abierto contra mí, con mentiras me han hablado.
3
Con palabras de odio me acosan, me atacan sin motivo alguno.
4
En pago de mi amistad, me acusan y yo no hago sino interceder por ellos.
5
Me devuelven mal por bien, odio en pago de mi amor. [Dicen:]
6
“Nombra en su contra a un malvado, que en lugar de abogado tenga un fiscal,
7
que al juzgarlo lo condenen, que su demanda se torne en condena.
8
Que sea breve su vida, que otro ocupe su cargo;
9
queden huérfanos sus hijos, quede viuda su esposa;
10
que sus hijos vaguen y mendiguen, que los echen de sus casas en ruinas.
11
Que el acreedor le embargue cuanto tiene, que saquee sus bienes gente extraña,
12
que no haya quien lo trate bien ni sienta piedad de sus huérfanos.
13
Que sea destruida su descendencia, borrado su nombre en la generación siguiente;
14
que la culpa de su padre se recuerde ante el Señor, que el pecado de su madre no se olvide,
15
que el Señor los tenga siempre presentes y borre de la tierra su recuerdo.
16
Porque olvidó hacer el bien, persiguió al oprimido y al pobre, al afligido para darle muerte.
17
Amaba la maldición: que caiga sobre él; odiaba la bendición: que de él se aleje.
18
La maldición lo vestía como un manto: que penetre como agua en sus entrañas y como aceite en sus huesos,
19
que sea para él cual vestido que lo cubra, como cinturón que lo ciña para siempre”.
20
Así pague el Señor a quienes me acusan, a quienes hablan mal de mí.
21
Pero tú, Señor, Dios mío, actúa en mi favor honrando tu nombre, por tu bondadoso amor, sálvame.
22
Yo soy un pobre y desvalido, tengo desgarrado el corazón.
23
Como sombra que declina voy cayendo, como a un saltamontes me espantan.
24
Mis rodillas flaquean por el ayuno, mi cuerpo languidece privado de alimento.
25
Soy para ellos motivo de burla, me ven y mueven la cabeza.
26
Señor, Dios mío, ayúdame, sálvame por tu amor,
27
para que sepan que aquí está tu mano, que tú, Señor, lo has hecho.
28
Que ellos maldigan mientras tú bendices, que sean humillados mientras tu siervo se alegra;
29
que cubra la infamia a quienes me acusan, que la vergüenza los envuelva como un manto.
30
Con mi boca daré gracias al Señor, entre la multitud lo alabaré,
31
porque es el abogado del pobre para salvarlo de los jueces.
