Alabad al Señor por su bondad, porque es eterno su amor.
2
Que lo digan los que el Señor ha salvado, los que ha salvado del poder del enemigo,
3
los que reunió de entre los países, de oriente y de occidente, del norte y del poniente.
4
Vagaban perdidos por el árido desierto, no hallaban el camino a una ciudad habitada.
5
Estaban hambrientos, tenían sed, su vida se iba agotando.
6
Pero en su angustia gritaron al Señor y él los salvó de sus penurias;
7
los guió por un camino recto hasta llegar a una ciudad habitada.
8
¡Que alaben al Señor por su amor, por sus maravillas con el ser humano!
9
Porque él sació la garganta ávida, al hambriento llenó de manjares.
10
En oscuridad y tinieblas vivían, cautivos de la miseria y el hierro,
11
por desobedecer la palabra de Dios, por despreciar el designio del Altísimo.
12
Él doblegó su corazón con penas, desfallecían y nadie los ayudaba.
13
Pero en su angustia gritaron al Señor y él los salvó de sus penurias.
14
Los sacó de tinieblas y sombras, rompió sus cadenas.
15
¡Que alaben al Señor por su amor, por sus maravillas con el ser humano!
16
Pues rompió las puertas de bronce, destrozó los cerrojos de hierro.
17
Enloquecidos por su mala conducta, abatidos por sus faltas,
18
les repugnaba toda comida, rozaban ya las puertas de la muerte.
19
Pero en su angustia gritaron al Señor y él los salvó de sus penurias.
20
Envió su palabra y los salvó, los libró de la tumba.
21
¡Que alaben al Señor por su amor, por sus maravillas con el ser humano!
22
Que le ofrezcan sacrificios de alabanza, que pregonen sus obras con alegría.
23
Los que surcan el mar en naves, comerciando por aguas caudalosas,
24
han visto las obras del Señor, sus maravillas en el mar profundo.
25
Pues habló y se alzó un viento huracanado que hizo encresparse a las olas.
26
Subían hasta el mismo cielo, hasta el abismo bajaban, desfallecidos por el terror;
27
rodaban, daban tumbos cual borracho, y era inútil su destreza.
28
Pero en su angustia gritaron al Señor y él los salvó de sus penurias.
29
Hizo que la tormenta amainara, que enmudecieran las olas.
30
Se alegraron al verlas en calma y Dios los condujo al puerto añorado.
31
¡Que alaben al Señor por su amor, por sus maravillas con el ser humano!
32
Que en la asamblea del pueblo lo ensalcen, que en la reunión de los ancianos lo alaben.
33
El Señor convierte en un desierto los ríos, los manantiales en tierra seca,
34
la tierra fértil en tierra estéril, por la maldad de quienes la habitan.
35
Convierte el desierto en un lago, en un manantial el árido yermo,
36
y allí asienta a los hambrientos que fundan la ciudad donde vivir.
37
Siembran campos, plantan viñas, cosechan frutos de la tierra.
38
Él los bendice y prosperan, no deja que decrezca su ganado.
39
Mas si decaen y están abatidos por el peso de penas y tristezas,
40
Dios, que desprecia a los príncipes y los hace vagar por un yermo sin sendas,
41
levanta al pobre de su miseria, aumenta cual rebaño a sus familias.
42
Lo ven los rectos y se alegran, mientras los malvados guardan silencio.
43
Quien sea sabio que medite estas cosas, que comprenda el amor del Señor.
