Poema de Asaf. ¿Por qué, Dios, nos has abandonado para siempre y tu ira se ha encendido contra tu rebaño?

Recuerda a la comunidad que antaño adquiriste, a la tribu que rescataste como heredad tuya, a este monte Sión donde tú habitas.
3
Encamina tus pasos hacia las ruinas eternas: el enemigo ha devastado todo en el santuario.
4
Tus rivales rugían en medio de tu asamblea, levantaban como señal de victoria sus estandartes.
5
Aparecieron como quien blande un hacha en un bosque espeso;
6
con hachas y martillos destrozaron los bajorrelieves;
7
prendieron fuego a tu santuario, profanaron la morada de tu nombre.
8
Pensaron: “¡Destruyámoslos de una vez!”. Y quemaron las moradas de Dios en la tierra.
9
No tenemos bandera, no queda un profeta y nadie entre nosotros sabe cuánto durará.
10
¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, blasfemará el rival? ¿Difamará siempre tu nombre el enemigo?
11
¿Por qué está inactiva tu mano y tu diestra reposa en tu regazo?
12
Dios es mi rey desde antiguo, mi salvador en medio de la tierra.
13
Tú dividiste el mar con poder, rompiste la cabeza de los monstruos marinos;
14
destrozaste las cabezas de Leviatán, lo diste como pasto a una jauría de alimañas.
15
Tú hiciste fluir manantiales y arroyos, secaste los ríos de corrientes sin fin.
16
Tuyo es el día, tuya la noche; tú creaste la luna y el sol,
17
fijaste los límites de la tierra, verano e invierno tú formaste.
18
Recuerda, Señor, que el enemigo te ha injuriado, que un pueblo miserable difama tu nombre.
19
¡No arrojes a las fieras la vida de tu tórtola, no olvides jamás la vida de tus humildes!
20
Dirige tu mirada a la alianza, pues hasta los últimos rincones del país están repletos de violencia.
21
Que el oprimido no regrese avergonzado, que el humilde y el pobre alaben tu nombre.
22
Oh Dios, ponte en acción, defiende tu causa, recuerda que sin cesar te ofende el insensato.
23
No olvides el clamor de tu adversario, el grito de tus rivales que no para de crecer.
