سپاس بر خداوند كه تكيهگاه من است و در ميدان جنگ به من قوت و مهارت میبخشد.
2
او هميشه نسبت به من رحيم و مهربان بوده است. او سپر و قلعۀ پناهگاه من است و مرا نجات میبخشد. بر او توكل دارم، زيرا قوم مرا زير فرمان من نگه میدارد.
3
ای خداوند، انسان چيست كه به او توجه نمايی؟ بنیآدم چه ارزشی دارد كه به فكر او باشی؟
4
عمر او دمی بيش نيست؛ روزهای زندگیاش همچون سايه میگذرد.
5
ای خداوند، آسمان را بشكاف و فرود بيا! كوهها را لمس كن تا از آنها دود برخيزد.
6
رعد و برق بفرست و دشمنانت را پراكنده ساز؛ تيرهايت را پرتاب كن و آنها را از پای درآور!
7
دستت را از آسمان دراز كن و مرا از ميان آبهای عميق نجات ده؛ بلی، مرا از چنگ اين بيگانگان كه سخنانشان سراسر دروغ است، آزاد ساز!
9
ای خدا، تو را سرودی تازه میسرايم! سرودم را با نغمۀ بربطِ دَهتار برای تو میسرايم!
10
تو پادشاهان را نجات میدهی و خدمتگزارت داود را از دم شمشير میرهانی!
11
مرا از دست دشمن ظالم برهان؛ مرا از چنگ اين بيگانگانی كه سخنانشان سراسر دروغ است نجات ده!
12
باشد كه پسران ما رشد كرده، همچون درختان تنومند و قدبلند شوند و دختران ما مانند پيكرهای سنگی خوشتراشِ قصر پادشاه گردند!
13
باشد كه انبارهای ما از انواع محصولات پر شود و گوسفندانمان در صحراها هزاران هزار بره بزايند!
14
باشد كه گاوانمان باردار شده، بدون زحمت بزايند! باشد كه در كوچههايمان صدای آه و ناله نباشد!
15
خوشابحال قومی كه چنين وضعی دارند و «يَهوَّه» خدای ايشان است!
