Älä meille, Herra, älä meille, vaan omalle nimellesi anna kunnia armosi ja totuutesi tähden.

Miksi pakanat saisivat sanoa: "Missä on heidän Jumalansa?"

Meidän Jumalamme on taivaissa; mitä ikinä hän tahtoo, sen hän tekee.

Mutta heidän epäjumalansa ovat hopeaa ja kultaa, ihmiskätten tekoa.

Niillä on suu, mutta ne eivät puhu, niillä on silmät, mutta ne eivät näe.

Niiden kädet eivät koske, niiden jalat eivät astu, eikä niiden kurkusta tule ääntä.
