Matkalaulu. Muista, Herra, Daavidin hyväksi kaikkia hänen vaivojaan,

hänen, joka vannoi valan Herralle ja teki lupauksen Jaakobin Väkevälle:

"En mene telttaan, joka on kotini, enkä nouse vuoteeseeni, joka on leposijani,
4
en suo silmilleni unta enkä silmäluomilleni lepoa,
5
ennen kuin löydän paikan Herralle, asumuksen Jaakobin Väkevälle."
6
Katso, kuulimme sen olevan Efratassa, löysimme sen Jaarin kedoilta.
7
Menkäämme hänen asumukseensa, kumartukaamme hänen jalkojensa astinlaudan eteen.
8
Nouse, Herra, leposijaasi, sinä ja väkevyytesi arkki.
9
Pappisi olkoot puetut vanhurskauteen, ja pyhäsi riemuitkoot.
10
Palvelijasi Daavidin tähden älä käännä pois voideltusi kasvoja.

Herra on vannonut Daavidille totisen valan, jota hän ei peruuta: "Ruumiisi hedelmän asetan valtaistuimellesi.
12
Jos poikasi pitävät liittoni ja todistukseni, jotka heille opetan, niin heidänkin poikansa saavat istua valtaistuimellasi iankaikkisesti."

Sillä Herra on valinnut Siionin, halunnut sen asunnokseen:

"Tämä on leposijani iankaikkisesti. Tässä asun, sillä tänne on ollut haluni.
15
Siionin ravinnon runsaasti siunaan, ruokin sen köyhät leivällä.
16
Sen papit puetan autuuteen, ja sen pyhät riemuiten riemuitkoot.
17
Siellä annan yletä Daavidille sarven, sytytän voidellulleni lampun.
18
Hänen vihollisensa puetan häpeään, mutta hänen päässään loistaa hänen kruununsa."
