Tais metais, kai Tartanas atvyko į Ašdodą (kai jį siuntė Asirijos karalius Sargonas) ir kariavo prieš Ašdodą, ir jį paėmė;

tuo pačiu metu VIEŠPATS kalbėjo per Amoco sūnų Izaiją, sakydamas: „Eik, nusirišk ašutinę nuo savo strėnų ir nusiauk savo apavą nuo kojų“. Ir jis taip padarė: vaikščiojo nuogas ir basas.

Ir VIEŠPATS tarė: „Kaip mano tarnas Izaijas trejus metus vaikščiojo nuogas ir basas kaip ženklas ir stebuklas Egiptui ir Etiopijai,

taip Asirijos karalius nusives egiptiečius kalinius ir etiopus belaisvius, jaunus ir senus, nuogus ir basus, tai yra, su apnuogintais sėdmenimis, Egipto gėdai.

Ir jie bijos ir gėdysis Etiopijos, savo lūkesčio, ir Egipto, savo šlovės.
6
Ir šitos salos gyventojai tą dieną sakys: ‘Štai toks yra mūsų lūkestis, pas kurį bėgame pagalbos, kad būtume išvaduoti iš Asirijos karaliaus; ir kaip mes pabėgsime?’“
