Lov Herren! For det er godt å lovsynge vår Gud, det er liflig, lovsang sømmer sig.

Herren bygger Jerusalem, de bortdrevne av Israel samler han.
3
Han helbreder dem som har et sønderknust hjerte, og forbinder deres smertefulle sår.
4
Han fastsetter stjernenes tall, han gir dem alle navn.
5
Vår Herre er stor og rik på kraft; på hans forstand er det intet mål.
6
Herren holder de saktmodige oppe, bøier de ugudelige ned til jorden.
7
Svar Herren med takksigelse, lovsyng vår Gud til citar,
8
ham som dekker himmelen med skyer, som lager regn for jorden, som lar gress spire frem på fjellene!
9
Han gir feet dets føde, ravneungene som roper.
10
Han har ikke lyst til hestens styrke, han har ikke behag i mannens ben.
11
Herren har behag i dem som frykter ham, som venter på hans miskunnhet.
12
Pris Herren, Jerusalem, lov din Gud, Sion!
13
For han har gjort dine portstenger faste, han har velsignet dine barn i dig.
14
Han er den som gir dine grenser fred, metter dig med den beste hvete.
15
Han er den som sender sin tale til jorden; såre hastig løper hans ord.
16
Han er den som gir sne som ull, strør ut rim som aske.
17
Han kaster sin is ut som småstykker; hvem kan stå for hans kulde?
18
Han sender sitt ord og smelter dem; han lar sin vind blåse, da rinner vannene.
19
Han kunngjorde Jakob sitt ord, Israel sine bud og sine lover;
20
så har han ikke gjort mot noget hedningefolk, og lover kjenner de ikke. Halleluja!
