Vai de cei care coboară în Egipt după ajutor, se sprijină pe cai și se încred în care, pentru că sunt multe, și în călăreți, pentru că sunt puternici, dar nu privesc către Sfântul lui Israél și nu-l caută pe Domnul!

Dar el este înțelept și face să vină răul, nu-și întoarce cuvintele, se ridică împotriva casei răufăcătorilor și împotriva ajutorului celor care practică nelegiuirea.

Căci egipténii sunt oameni, nu Dumnezeu, caii lor sunt carne, nu duh. Domnul își va întinde mâna și cel care ajută se va prăbuși, iar cel ajutat va cădea și amândoi vor pieri împreună.

Căci așa mi-a vorbit Domnul: „După cum leul și puiul de leu rag asupra prăzii lor când s-a adunat împoriva lor o mulțime de păstori, nu se tem de glasul lor și nici nu se supun înaintea strigătului lor, la fel, Domnul Sabaót va coborî să se lupte pe muntele Sión și pe colina lui.

Cum își întind păsările aripile, așa va ocroti Domnul Sabaót Ierusalímul: îl va ocroti și-l va mântui, îl va cruța și-l va scăpa”.

Întoarceți-vă la acela față de care v-ați răzvrătit, fii ai lui Israél!
7
În ziua aceea, fiecare își va abandona idolii de argint și idolii de aur pe care vi i-ați făcut cu mâinile voastre spre păcat.
8
Asíria va cădea de sabie, dar nu a unui om; o va nimici o sabie, dar nu a unui om. Va fugi de sabie, iar tinerii ei vor fi supuși la munci forțate.
9
Vor abandona de teamă stânca lor, iar căpeteniile lor vor tremura înaintea steagului – oracolul Domnului – care are un foc în Sión și un cuptor în Ierusalím.
