Psalm. Al lui Asáf. Domnul, Dumnezeul dumnezeilor, vorbește, el cheamă pământul de la răsăritul soarelui până la asfințitul lui.
2
Din Sión, frumusețea desăvârșită, Dumnezeu strălucește.
3
Vine Dumnezeul nostru și nu tace; în fața lui e foc mistuitor, iar împrejurul lui [se dezlănțuie] o furtună puternică.
4
El cheamă cerurile de sus și pământul, ca să-și judece poporul.
5
„Adunați-i înaintea mea pe credincioșii mei, pe cei care, prin jertfă, au încheiat alianța cu mine!”.
6
Cerurile vor face cunoscută dreptatea lui, căci însuși Dumnezeu este judecătorul.
7
Ascultă, poporul meu, eu îți vorbesc, Israél, eu voi depune mărturie împotriva ta: eu sunt Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul tău.
8
Nu pentru jertfele tale te dojenesc, pentru că arderile tale de tot sunt pururi înaintea mea.
9
Nu voi primi viței din casa ta, nici țapi din turmele tale!
10
Căci ale mele sunt toate viețuitoarele pădurii, toate miile de animale din munți.
11
Eu cunosc toate păsările munților și al meu este tot ce se mișcă pe câmpie.
12
Dacă mi-ar fi foame, nu ți-aș spune ție, căci lumea, cu tot ce este în ea, mie îmi aparține.
13
Mănânc eu oare carne de tauri și beau eu oare sângele țapilor?
14
Oferă-i lui Dumnezeu jertfă de laudă și împlinește voturile [făcute] Celui Preaînalt.
15
Cheamă-mă în ziua strâmtorării: eu te voi elibera, iar tu mă vei cinsti!
16
Dar celui nelegiuit, Domnul îi spune: „Pentru ce vorbești despre poruncile mele și alianța mea este pe buzele tale,
17
de vreme ce urăști disciplina [mea] și cuvintele mele le arunci la spatele tău?
18
Dacă vezi un hoț, tu fugi cu el și te întovărășești cu adulterii.
19
Tu dai drumul gurii tale la rele și limba ta țese [planuri] viclene.
20
Stai și vorbești împotriva fratelui tău, îl clevetești pe fiul mamei tale.
21
[Iată], ai făcut acestea, iar eu să tac? Îți închipui că eu sunt ca tine? Te voi mustra și voi pune [totul] sub ochii tăi.
22
Înțelegeți aceasta, voi care-l uitați pe Dumnezeu, ca nu cumva să vă sfâșii și nu va fi nimeni care să vă scape.
23
Cine aduce jertfă de laudă, acela mă cinstește; celui care merge pe calea [cea dreaptă] îi voi arăta mântuirea lui Dumnezeu”.
