Lamentare. A lui Davíd. Pe care a cântat-o Domnului din cauza lui Cuș din Beniamín.
2
Doamne Dumnezeul meu, în tine mi-am căutat refugiu. Mântuiește-mă de toți urmăritorii mei și eliberează-mă,
3
ca nu cumva să-mi sfâșie viața ca leul, să nu mă zdrobească fără ca cineva să mă salveze!
4
Doamne Dumnezeul meu, dacă am săvârșit aceasta, dacă este nedreptate în mâinile mele,
5
dacă am răspuns prietenului meu cu rău și fără motiv mi-am jefuit vrăjmașul,
6
atunci dușmanul să-mi urmărească viața și să mă ajungă și să culce la pământ viața mea și cinstea mea în praf să o arunce!
7
Ridică-te, Doamne, în mânia ta, înalță-te împotriva furiei asupritorilor mei și scoală-te, Dumnezeul meu, la judecata pe care ai rânduit-o!
8
Adunarea neamurilor să te înconjoare: întoarce-te asupra ei din înălțime!
9
Domnul judecă popoarele; judecă-mă, Doamne, după dreptatea și după integritatea care este în mine!
10
Pune capăt răutății celor nelegiuiți și întărește-l pe cel drept tu, care cercetezi inimile și rărunchii, Dumnezeule [prea]drept!
11
Ajutorul meu este la Dumnezeu, cel care îi mântuiește pe cei drepți cu inima.
12
Dumnezeu este un judecător drept, care se poate indigna în fiecare zi.
13
Oare nu-și ascute din nou sabia, își întinde arcul și țintește?
14
Își pregătește armele morții și își încinge săgețile în foc!
15
Iată, cel rău a urzit fărădelegea, a zămislit silnicia și a dat naștere minciunii!
16
A săpat groapă și a adâncit-o și a căzut în groapa pe care a făcut-o.
17
Se întoarce răutatea lui asupra capului său și pe creștetul lui coboară violența.
18
Îl voi lăuda pe Domnul pentru dreptatea lui și voi cânta numele Domnului Preaînalt.
