Pre zbormajstra. Dávidov. Žalm. Bože, moja chvála, nemlč!

Bezbožníci a luhári ma napádajú, podvodníci ma osočujú.
3
Obstali ma, vykrikujú nenávistné slová, bezdôvodne na mňa útočia.
4
Za moju lásku k nim broja proti mne, no ja sa modlím.
5
Zlom sa mi odplácajú za dobro a za lásku nenávisťou.
6
Vraviac: "Pošli na neho zlosyna, žalobcu, aby mu stál po pravici pri súde!"
7
Ale na súde ten bezbožník bude odsúdený a jeho táraniny pripočítajú sa mu za hriech.
8
Nech je namále dní jeho života a jeho úrad nech prevezme iný!
9
Nech sa jeho deti stanú sirotami a jeho manželka vdovou!
10
Nech sa jeho deti túlajú po žobraní, vyhnané z vlastného domu!
11
Nech mu úžerník zhabe celý majetok, nech cudzinci rozchvácu plody jeho práce!
12
Nech mu nikto neprejaví milosrdenstvo, nech sa nikto nezľutuje nad jeho sirotami!
13
Nech jeho rod zanikne, nech jeho meno vymrie v druhom pokolení!
14
Nech Jahve nezabudne na viny jeho predkov, hriechy jeho matky nech nikdy nezotrie!
15
Nech Jahve stále na ne pamätá a nech vyhladí aj spomienku na jeho rod!
16
Lebo mu ani nenapadlo, aby bol voči niekomu láskavý, ale prenasledoval zdeptaného a bezbranného a skleslého na duchu doháňal k smrti.
17
Mal rád preklínanie, nech padne na neho! Nemal rád požehnanie, nech ho ono opustí!
18
Preklínaním sa odieval ako šatom, nech ním presiakne ako voda, nech prenikne až do jeho kostí ako olej;
19
a nech ho kliatba pokryje ako šat, nech ho zovrie ako opasok!
20
Nech takto Jahve odplatí mojim žalobcom a všetkým, čo ma osočujú!
21
Ty však, Jahve, so mnou nalož, ako sluší tvojmu menu, zachráň ma, lebo tvoja láska je dobrotivá!
22
Som biedny a nešťastný, zranený v hĺbke srdca.
23
Strácam sa ako tieň podvečer, ako kobylka odnášaná víchrom.
24
Od postenia sa mi podlamujú kolená, telo mi schradlo od biedneho jedla.
25
Stal som sa im predmetom posmechu, keď ma vidia, pokyvujú hlavou.
26
Pomôž mi, Jahve, môj Bože, zachráň ma pre svoju lásku!
27
Nech ľudia poznajú, že v tom je tvoja ruka, že ty si to na mňa dopustil, Jahve.
28
Nech ma preklínajú, ale ty ma žehnaj! Nech mojich protivníkov zastihne hanba, ale tvoj služobník nech sa raduje!
29
Nech mojich žalobcov pokryje potupa a nech ich hanba zahalí ako plášť! Budem ho velebiť v zhromaždení ľudu.
30
Nech z mojich úst zaznie vrelá vďaka Jahvemu,
31
lebo on si zastal po boku chudáka, aby mu zachránil život pred jeho sudcami.
