Pre zbormajstra. Na "Útlak vzdialených kniežat". Dávidov. Polohlasom. Keď sa ho v Gate zmocnili Filištínci.

Bože, zľutuj sa nado mnou, lebo ma prenasledujú, nepriatelia ma stále sužujú.

Celý deň sliedia za mnou záškodníci, veľa ich útočí proti mne.
4
Keď sa ma zmocňuje strach, na teba sa spolieham.
5
Spolieham sa na Boha, ktorého prísľub velebím; na Boha sa spolieham a ničoho sa nebojím. Čo mi môže urobiť smrteľník?

Ustavične prekrúcajú moje slová, rozmýšľajú iba, ako mi škodiť,
7
spolčujú sa, striehnu na mňa, sliedia mi za pätami a stroja úklady môjmu životu.
8
Či pre toľkú zlobu môžu ujsť trestu? Bože, vo svojom hneve zraz tieto národy!
9
Ty si spočítal, koľko ráz som musel utekať, pozbieral si všetky moje slzy, či nie je všetko zaznačené v tvojej knihe?
10
Nepriatelia musia cúvnuť, keď ťa poprosím, viem to, lebo Boh je so mnou.
11
Spolieham sa na Boha, ktorého prísľub velebím, na Jahveho, ktorého prísľub velebím.
12
Na Boha sa spolieham a ničoho sa nebojím. Čože mi môže urobiť človek?
13
Bože, zaviazaný som sľubmi, ktoré som ti urobil: prinesiem ti ďakovné obety,
14
lebo si ma zachránil od smrti, moje nohy si uchránil od pádu, aby som mohol kráčať v tvojej prítomnosti vo svetle života.
