Dávidov žalm na spomienku.

Hospodin, netrestaj ma vo svojom hneve, nekarhaj ma vo svojom rozhorčení.
3
Veď tvoje šípy uviazli vo mne a tvoja ruka doľahla na mňa.
4
Pre tvoj hrozný hnev niet zdravého miesta na mojom tele, ani moje kosti nie sú v poriadku pre môj hriech.
5
Veď previnenia mi prerástli cez hlavu. Je to ťažké bremeno, ťažšie, než unesiem.
6
Páchnu a hnisajú mi rany pre moju nerozvážnosť.
7
Zohnutý som a veľmi skľúčený, smutne sa vlečiem celý deň,
8
lebo mám bedrá celkom zapálené a zdravého miesta niet na mojom tele.
9
Som otupený a nesmierne zdrvený, kvíliacim srdcom nariekam.
10
Pane, predostrel som ti každé svoje želanie a moje vzdychanie nie je skryté pred tebou.
11
Srdce sa mi prudko rozbúchalo. Sila ma opustila. A svetlo mojich očí? Aj to zhaslo.
12
Moji milí a priatelia neuniesli moju chorobu. Moji príbuzní stoja obďaleč.
13
Tí, čo za mnou sliedia, nastavili mi pascu. Tí, čo mi chcú zle, radili sa, ako ma zničia. Celé dni vymýšľajú úklady,
14
ale ja som ako hluchý. Nepočujem. Som ako nemý, čo ústa neotvorí.
15
Som ako človek, čo nepočuje, a nevie sa brániť ústami.
16
Hospodin, teba očakávam. Pán, môj Boh, ty mi odpovieš.
17
Preto som mohol povedať: „Nech sa už neradujú nado mnou a keď sa potknem, nech sa nevystatujú nado mnou.“
18
Veď už takmer padám a moja bolesť trvá ustavične.
19
Preto vyznávam svoju vinu a trápim sa pre svoj hriech.
20
Moji nepriatelia sú živí a mocní. Mnoho je tých, čo ma neprávom nenávidia,
21
odplácajú sa mi zlým za dobré a napádajú ma za snahu o dobro.
22
Hospodin, neopusť ma! Bože môj, nevzďaľuj sa odo mňa!
23
Ponáhľaj sa mi na pomoc, Pán, moja spása!
