以實馬利 人攜 約瑟 至 埃及 。鬻於 法老 臣 侍衛長 波提乏 。
2
約瑟 於 埃及 家為僕、 耶和華 祐之、使之亨通。
3
厥主見 耶和華 祐之、所為無不亨通。
4
故加以恩、使常侍左右、統轄全業、悉以所有歸其掌握。
5
嗣後 耶和華 為 約瑟 故、錫嘏於其主、凡在室在田、咸蒙其祉。
6
主悉以所有、歸 約瑟 掌握、於己所食外、不知有長物。 約瑟 丰采甚都。
7
久之、主母目 約瑟 曰、與我偕寢。
8
約瑟 不從、曰、主已不與家事、以凡所有、歸我掌握。
9
家之中我為督、我有作為、主不禁禦、但汝乃其妻、我不可犯。安可自干元惡、獲罪於上帝。
10
婦日誘之、 約瑟 不聽、非惟不與同寢、亦不與共在。
11
一日入室治事、旁無侍從、
12
主母執其衣、曰、與我同寢。 約瑟 棄衣而遁。
13
主母見其遁、棄衣在手。
14
則呼家人曰、主使 希百來 人至此、辱及我儕、適入室中、欲我薦寢、我厲聲號呼。
15
彼聽我聲甚厲、棄衣而遁。
16
婦存其衣、以待主歸。
17
既至、則告曰、爾所得之 希百來 僕、入以辱我。
18
我厲聲號呼、彼方棄衣而奔。
19
主聞妻言、知僕行是、則怒甚。
20
執 約瑟 下囹圄。其地為犯王章者所幽囚之處。 約瑟 既下獄、
21
蒙 耶和華 祐、特矜恤之、令沾恩於司獄。
22
司獄以獄囚悉畀 約瑟 掌理、獄中所為、惟 約瑟 是問。
23
司獄不自理獄事、悉歸 約瑟 、蓋 耶和華 祐 約瑟 、凡其所行、無不亨通、
