¡Oh Adonay, Tú has sido nuestra morada De generación en generación!

Antes que los montes fueran engendrados, Y dieras a luz la tierra y el mundo, Desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad, Tú eres ’El.

Haces que el hombre vuelva al polvo, Y dices: Volveos, hijos de Adam.

Porque mil años delante de tus ojos Son como el día de ayer, que pasó, Y como una de las vigilias de la noche.

Los arrastras como una inundación, Son como un sueño al amanecer, Como la hierba que crece:

A la mañana reverdece y florece, A la tarde se marchita y se seca.

¡Cómo somos consumidos por tu ira Y turbados por tu indignación!

Pusiste nuestras iniquidades ante ti, Nuestras cosas ocultas a la luz de tu rostro,

Ciertamente todos nuestros días declinan a causa de tu ira; Consumimos nuestros años como un suspiro.

Los días de nuestros años son setenta años, Y en los robustos, ochenta años, Pero todo su orgullo no es más que afán y vanidad, Porque pronto pasan … y volamos.

¿Quién conoce el poder de tu ira y de tu indignación conforme al temor que se te debe?

Enséñanos a contar nuestros días de tal modo, Que traigamos al corazón sabiduría.
13
¡Vuélvete, YHVH! ¿Hasta cuándo? ¡Ten compasión de tus siervos!
14
¡Sácianos presto de tu misericordia, Y cantaremos y nos alegraremos todos nuestros días!
15
Alégranos conforme a los días que nos afligiste, Y los años en que hemos visto males.
16
Manifiesta en tus siervos tu obra, Y sobre sus hijos tu gloria,
17
Y la hermosura de Adonay nuestro Dios sea sobre nosotros; Y confirma sobre nosotros la obra de nuestras manos; ¡Sí, la obra de nuestras manos confirma!
