Seigneur, délivre-moi des méchants, protège-moi contre les hommes violents!

Dans leur cœur, ils préparent de mauvais coups, tous les jours, ils provoquent des disputes.

Leur langue est aussi pointue que la langue des serpents, ils ont dans la bouche du venin de vipère.

Seigneur, empêche-moi de tomber entre les mains des gens mauvais. Protège-moi contre les hommes violents qui pensent à me faire tomber.

Des orgueilleux ont caché un piège devant moi. Pour me prendre, ils ont tendu des cordes et un filet, ils ont placé des pièges au bord du chemin.

J’ai dit au Seigneur: « Tu es mon Dieu. Seigneur, écoute-moi quand je crie vers toi!

Seigneur, mon maître, tu es la force qui me sauve, tu protèges ma tête pendant le combat.

Seigneur, n’écoute pas les demandes des gens mauvais, ne fais pas réussir leurs projets! »

Ceux qui m’attaquent de tous côtés disent des paroles méchantes. Eh bien, qu’elles retombent sur leur tête!

Que des charbons brûlants pleuvent sur eux! Qu’on les jette dans le feu, dans des trous profonds, et qu’ils n’en sortent plus!

Ceux qui disent du mal des autres ne doivent pas rester dans le pays. Que le malheur chasse sans pitié les hommes violents!

Je le sais, le Seigneur fera justice aux malheureux, il donnera raison aux pauvres.
14
Oui, ceux qui t’obéissent, Seigneur, te diront merci, ceux qui ont le cœur pur resteront sous ton regard.
