Dāvida psalms. Slavēts lai Kungs, mana klints, kas vingrina manas rokas kaujai, manus pirkstus karam,

mans aizgādnis un mans cietoksnis, mans patvērums un glābējs man, mans vairogs viņš, pie kā es tveros, kas loka manu tautu manā priekšā!

Kungs, kas ir cilvēks, ka tu pamani to, un cilvēkbērns, ka tu par viņu domā?
4
Cilvēks dvesmai līdzīgs, viņa mūžs ir kā gaisīga ēna.
5
Atvāz debesis un nāc lejā, skar kalnus, lai tie kūp!
6
Zibsnī zibeni un šķied viņus, laid savas bultas un kliedē viņus,
7
stiep savu roku no augstumiem, izrauj mani un izglāb no lielajiem ūdeņiem, no svešinieku rokām,
8
kuru mute runā melus, un viņu labā roka ir viltus pilna!
9
Dievs, jaunu dziesmu es dziedāšu tev, desmit stīgu arfu tev spēlēšu!
10
Tu izglābi ķēniņus, tu atrāvi Dāvidu, savu kalpu, no ļaunā zobena.
11
Izrauj mani, atpestī mani no svešinieku rokām, kuru mute runā melus, un viņu labā roka ir viltus pilna!
12
Kad mūsu dēli savā jaunībā ir kā dēsti pilnā plaukumā, kad mūsu meitas ir kā stūra balsti, izdarināti pils krāšņumam,
13
kad mūsu kambari pilni visvisāda labuma, kad mūsu avis nes tūkstošus un desmitiem tūkstošu mūsu ārēs,
14
kad mūsu govis ir grūsnas un ne sērga tās ķer, ne tās izmetas, nedz žēli dzird maujam mūsu plašumos –
15
svētīta tauta, kurai tā ir! Svētīta tauta, kuras Dievs ir Kungs!
