Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Stânca mea, Cel Ce-mi deprinde mâinile pentru luptă și degetele pentru război,
2
Binefăcătorul meu, Fortăreața mea, Locul meu de scăpare, Salvatorul meu, Scutul meu și Cel în Care mă adăpostesc, Cel Care-mi supune poporul!
3
Doamne, ce este omul, ca să ții cont de el, și fiul omului, ca să te gândești la el?
4
Omul este ca o suflare, iar zilele lui sunt ca umbra care trece.
5
Doamne, pleacă-Ți cerurile și coboară; atinge munții, ca să fumege!
6
Aprinde fulgerul și împrăștie-i pe dușmanii mei; aruncă săgețile Tale și pune-i pe fugă!
7
Întinde-Ți mâna din înălțime! Scapă-mă și salvează-mă din apele cele mari, din mâna fiilor celui străin,
8
a căror gură vorbește minciuni și a căror dreaptă este înșelătoare.
9
Dumnezeule, Îți voi cânta o cântare nouă! Voi cânta spre lauda Ta cu lira cu zece coarde,
10
Ție, Care le dai regilor victoria, Care îl scapi pe David, slujitorul Tău, de o sabie distrugătoare.
11
Numai scapă-mă, salvează-mă din mâna fiilor celui străin, a căror gură vorbește nimicuri și a căror dreaptă este înșelătoare.
12
Atunci fiii noștri, în tinerețea lor, vor fi ca niște plante bine crescute. Fetele noastre vor fi ca niște stâlpi sculptați pentru structura unui palat.
13
Grânarele noastre vor fi pline, gemând de tot felul de roade. Turmele noastre ni se vor înmulți cu miile și cu zecile de mii pe pășunile noastre.
14
Vitele noastre vor fi bine hrănite; nu vom avea parte nici de ziduri sparte, nici de înrobire, nici de țipăt pe străzile noastre.
15
Ferice de poporul care are parte de acestea! Ferice de poporul al cărui Dumnezeu este Domnul!
