上主對我說話；

他說：「必朽的人哪，葡萄樹怎能跟別的樹相提並論呢？葡萄樹的枝子怎能比得上森林裡的樹呢？
3
你能用它做什麼？你能用它做掛東西的木釘子嗎？
4
它只能用來生火。當它兩端都燒掉，中段也燒焦了，你還能用它做什麼嗎？
5
即使還沒燒，它已經沒有什麼用處；燒了，焦了，更沒有用。」
6
所以，至高的上主這樣說：「我要把 耶路撒冷 的居民趕出來，懲罰他們，正像我從森林裡把葡萄樹揀出來燒一樣。即使他們逃出一場火災，有另一場大火要燒盡他們。我懲罰他們的時候，你們就知道我是上主。
8
他們對我不忠，所以我要使他們的土地荒廢。」至高的上主這樣宣布了。
