Vivamos bajo el cuidado del Dios altísimo; pasemos la noche bajo la protección del Dios todopoderoso.
2
Él es nuestro refugio, el Dios que nos da fuerzas, ¡el Dios en quien confiamos!
3
Sólo él puede librarnos de los peligros ocultos y de enfermedades mortales;
4
solo bajo su protección podemos vivir tranquilos, pues nunca deja de cuidarnos.
5
Ni de día ni de noche tendremos que preocuparnos de estar en peligro de muerte.
6
Ni en las sombras de la noche, ni a plena luz del día, nos caerá desgracia alguna.
7
Tal vez a nuestra izquierda veamos caer miles de muertos; tal vez a nuestra derecha veamos caer diez mil más, pero a nosotros nada nos pasará.
8
Con nuestros propios ojos veremos cómo los malvados reciben su merecido.
9
El Dios altísimo es nuestro refugio y protección.
10
Por eso ningún desastre vendrá sobre nuestros hogares.
11
Dios mismo les dirá a sus ángeles que nos cuiden por todas partes.
12
Los ángeles nos llevarán en brazos para que no tropecemos con nada;
13
andaremos entre leones y serpientes, ¡y los aplastaremos!
14
Dios dice: «Mi pueblo me ama y me conoce; por eso yo lo pondré a salvo.
15
Cuando me llame, le responderé y estaré con él en su angustia; lo libraré y lo llenaré de honores,
16
le daré muchos años de vida, y lo haré gozar de mi salvación».
