Es apklusu un nerunāju, es kļuvu pilnīgi kā mēms, tālu no laimes, bet manas sāpes auga augumā.

Mana sirds smeldza manās krūtīs, manas pārdomas lika iedegties ugunij manā dvēselē, un man bija jārunā ar savu mēli:

Redzi, Tu manas dienas esi licis sprīža garumā, un mans mūža ilgums nav it nekas Tavā priekšā. Tikai vēja pūsma ir cilvēks savās mūža gaitās! (Sela.)

Cilvēks staigā kā ēna. Un nieka dēļ viņš raizējas. Viņš krāj mantu kaudzēm, bet nezina, kam tā būs.

Nu uz ko tad, Kungs, lai es ceru? Mana cerība ir vienīgi uz Tevi.

Izglāb mani no visiem maniem pārkāpumiem un neliec man bezprāšiem kļūt par apsmieklu!

Es esmu apklusis, savu muti es neatveru, jo Tu esi to tā nolicis.

Atlaid man Tevis uzlikto sodu, jo Tavas rokas smagums mani iznīcina.

Kad Tu cilvēku pārmāci par viņa noziegumiem, tad viņa godība iznīkst kā drāna, ko saēd kodes. Tiešām, tikai vēja pūsma ir cilvēks! (Sela.)

Uzklausi manu lūgšanu, Kungs, sadzirdi manu saukšanu, neciet klusu, kad leju asaras, jo es esmu Tavā priekšā tikai svešinieks un piedzīvotājs kā visi mani tēvi.

Novērs manas mokas, ka es atspirgstu un gaišāks kļūst mans skats, pirms es aizeimu un vairs neesmu!"
