Doamne, adu-Ți aminte de David și de toate necazurile lui!
2
Adu-Ți aminte cum I-a jurat el Domnului și I-a făcut următoarea juruință Puternicului lui Iacov:
3
„Nu voi intra în cortul în care locuiesc, nu mă voi sui în patul în care mă odihnesc,
4
nu voi da somn ochilor mei, nici ațipire pleoapelor mele
5
până nu voi găsi un loc pentru Domnul, o locuință pentru Puternicul lui Iacov.”
6
Iată, am auzit vorbindu-se despre el la Efrata, l-am găsit în ogorul Iaar…
7
Haidem la locuința Lui, să ne închinăm înaintea așternutului picioarelor Lui!…
8
Scoală-Te, Doamne, vino la locul Tău de odihnă, Tu și chivotul măreției Tale!
9
Preoții Tăi să se îmbrace în neprihănire, și credincioșii Tăi să scoată strigăte de bucurie!
10
Pentru robul Tău David, nu-l lepăda pe unsul Tău!
11
Domnul i-a jurat lui David adevărul și nu Se va întoarce de la ce a jurat: „Voi pune pe scaunul tău de domnie un fiu din trupul tău.
12
Dacă fiii tăi vor păzi legământul Meu și învățăturile Mele pe care li le voi da, vor ședea și fiii lor în veci pe scaunul tău de domnie.”
13
Da, Domnul a ales Sionul, l-a dorit ca locuință a Lui și a zis:
14
„Acesta este locul Meu de odihnă pe vecie; voi locui în el, căci l-am dorit.
15
Îi voi binecuvânta din belșug hrana, îi voi sătura cu pâine pe săracii lui,
16
îi voi îmbrăca în mântuire pe preoții lui, și credincioșii lui vor scoate strigăte de bucurie.
17
Acolo voi înălța puterea lui David, îi voi pregăti o candelă unsului Meu,
18
îi voi îmbrăca cu rușine pe vrăjmașii lui și peste el va străluci cununa lui.”
