Doamne, Tu ai fost locul nostru de adăpost din neam în neam.
2
Înainte să se fi născut munții și înainte să se fi făcut pământul și lumea, din veșnicie în veșnicie, Tu ești Dumnezeu.
3
Tu îi întorci pe oameni în țărână și zici: „Întoarceți-vă, fii ai oamenilor!”
4
Căci înaintea Ta o mie de ani sunt ca ziua de ieri, care a trecut, și ca o strajă din noapte.
5
Îi mături ca un vis; dimineața sunt ca iarba, care încolțește iarăși:
6
înflorește dimineața și crește, iar seara este tăiată și se usucă.
7
Noi suntem mistuiți de mânia Ta și îngroziți de urgia Ta.
8
Tu pui înaintea Ta nelegiuirile noastre și scoți la lumina Feței Tale păcatele noastre cele ascunse.
9
Toate zilele noastre pier de urgia Ta, vedem cum ni se duc anii ca un sunet.
10
Anii vieții noastre se ridică la șaptezeci de ani, iar pentru cei mai tari, la optzeci de ani; și lucrul cu care se mândrește omul în timpul lor nu este decât trudă și durere, căci trec iute, și noi zburăm.
11
Dar cine ia seama la tăria mâniei Tale și la urgia Ta, așa cum se cuvine să se teamă de Tine?
12
Învață-ne să ne numărăm bine zilele, ca să căpătăm o inimă înțeleaptă!
13
Întoarce-te, Doamne! Până când zăbovești? Ai milă de robii Tăi!
14
Satură-ne în fiecare dimineață de bunătatea Ta, și toată viața noastră ne vom bucura și ne vom veseli!
15
Înveselește-ne tot atâtea zile câte ne-ai smerit, tot atâția ani câți am văzut nenorocirea!
16
Să li se arate robilor Tăi lucrarea Ta, și slava Ta – fiilor lor!
17
Fie peste noi bunăvoința Domnului, Dumnezeului nostru, și întărește lucrarea mâinilor noastre; da, întărește lucrarea mâinilor noastre!
