Hulle is net soos honger leeus wat rondkyk om iets te kry wat hulle kan opeet. Help my, want daar is niemand anders wat dit kan doen nie.

Here, my God, as ek dinge gedoen het wat nie reg is in u oë nie, wys dit tog vir my!

As ek mense wat my wou help, of mense wat teen my was, sleg behandel het, kan hulle my maar in die grond in trap. Dan kan hulle my maar slegsê.

Mag my vyand my dan in die hande kry, en my bykom en verneder.

Staan asseblief op, Here! Gryp tog in! Word ’n slag kwaad vir daardie spul wat so vol woede teen my baklei. Pas my op. U wil mos hê dat mense reg behandel word.

Laat al die mense in die wêreld in ’n kring gaan sit. Dan gaan sit U op u troon in die hemel, daar van waar U die wêreld beheer. U is die sterkste, U heers oor almal.

Daarom kan U die regte besluite oor elkeen se lewe neem. En daarom kan ek nou by U pleit: kyk tog dat ek die regte dinge gedoen het, Here! Ek is onskuldig. Ek verdien nie om so sleg behandel te word nie.

Maak ’n einde aan slegte mense se planne wat weier om na U te luister. Maar help hulle wat U liefhet, o God. U weet mos of mense reg leef en of hulle vertrou kan word. U tree altyd regverdig op.

U beskerm my, want U help almal wat reg voor U leef.

God is ’n eerlike regter. Hy neem altyd die regte besluite. U word kwaad vir mense wat verkeerde dinge doen. As iemand nie sy sondes laat staan en doen wat U wil hê nie, straf U hom.

Dan is U soos ’n jagter wat u swaard skerp maak en pyl en boog span om die slagoffer te skiet.

U sit dodelike gif aan u pyl om u prooi te skiet. Almal wat skuldig is, doen dinge waarvan U niks hou nie.

Hulle doen aanmekaar kwaad en bedrieg ander. Met hulle gebeur presies wat die spreekwoord sê:

Grawe ’n gat vir ander, dan val jy self daarin.
17
Deur hulle eie geknoei kom hulle tot ’n val. Die gewelddadige dinge wat hulle vir ander beplan, gebeur met hulleself.
18
Ek sal die Here prys omdat Hy regverdig teenoor alle mense is! Ek sal liedere sing om die allerhoogste Here se Naam te loof!
