Cantique pour le jour du repos. Il est beau de louer l'Éternel, et de chanter ton nom, ô Très-haut!

le matin de redire ta faveur, et ta fidélité durant les nuits,
3
aux sons du décachorde et du luth, aux accords de la harpe.

Car tu me réjouis, Éternel, par tes hauts faits, et je suis ravi des ouvrages de tes mains.
5
Que tes œuvres sont grandes, ô Éternel, et tes pensées profondes!
6
L'homme stupide l'ignore, et l'insensé ne le comprend pas.
7
Que les impies lèvent comme la plante, et que tous les méchants fleurissent, c'est pour être détruits à jamais.
8
Et toi, tu es éternellement élevé, ô Dieu!
9
Car voici, tes ennemis, Seigneur, voici, tes ennemis périssent, tous ceux qui font le mal, sont dissipés.
10
Mais tu relèves mon front, comme celui des taureaux, je suis arrosé d'une huile nouvelle;
11
mes adversaires réjouissent mes regards, et la chute de mes méchants ennemis flatte mon oreille.
12
Le juste verdit comme le palmier, il croît comme un cèdre au Liban.
13
Planté dans la maison de l'Éternel, il prospère dans les parvis de notre Dieu,
14
et pousse encore des jets dans la vieillesse même; il est plein de sève, et son feuillage est épais;
15
pour proclamer que l'Éternel est juste, qu'il est mon rocher, et ne fait rien d'inique.
