Asafova pjesma. Bože, narodi su upali u tvoj posjed i okaljali tvoj sveti Hram, a Jeruzalem pretvorili u ruševinu.

Leševe tvojih slugu dali su pticama za hranu, a meso tvojih vjernih zvijerima.

Krv su im izlili oko Jeruzalema kao vodu, a nikoga nije bilo da ih sahrani.

Ruglo smo postali svojim susjedima, smiju nam se i rugaju svi oko nas.

Dokle još, BOŽE? Zar ćeš se dovijeka ljutiti? Zar će tvoja ljubomora gorjeti kao oganj?

Izlij svoju srdžbu na narode koji te ne poznaju, na kraljevstva koja ne prizivaju tvoje ime.

Jer, oni su proždrli Jakova i opustošili njegovo boravište.

Ne kažnjavaj nas zbog grijeha naših predaka. Iskaži nam milost i požuri, jer smo posve bespomoćni.

Pomozi nam, Bože, naš Spasitelju, radi slave svoga imena. Izbavi nas i oprosti nam grijehe radi časti svoga imena.

Zašto da narodi govore: »Gdje im je Bog?« Daj da vidimo i mi i drugi narodi da se osvećuješ za prolivenu krv svojih slugu.

Neka hropci zatočenih dopru do tebe. Svojom snagom oslobodi na smrt osuđene.

Sedmerostruko vrati okolnim narodima za uvredu koju su ti nanijeli, Gospodaru.
13
Tada ćemo ti mi, tvoj narod, ovce s tvog pašnjaka, zauvijek zahvaljivati. O tvojoj ćemo slavi kroz sve naraštaje pričati.
