Dāvida psalms. Kungs, uzklausi manu lūgšanu, sadzirdi manas vaimanas! Savā uzticībā atbildi man, savā taisnībā!

Neej pie tiesas ar savu kalpu – neviens no dzīvajiem nav taisns tavā priekšā!

Naidnieks vajā mani, līdz zemei tas nospiedis manu dzīvību, nogrūdis mani tumsā kā sen mirušos –

izmocīts mans gars, iztukšota mana sirds!

Atceros senās dienas, spriežu par visu, ko tu darījis, par tavu roku darbiem es prātoju,
6
plešu rokas tev pretī, es esmu zeme, kas slāpst tevis!
7
Steidz man atbildēt, Kungs, nīkst mans gars! Neslēp savu vaigu no manis, lai neesmu kā tie, kam nogrimt bedrē!
8
Liec man dzirdēt no rīta par tavu žēlastību, jo uz tevi paļaujos, māci man ceļu, pa kuru man jāstaigā, jo tev pretī dvēseli sniedzu!
9
Glāb mani no maniem naidniekiem, Kungs, pie tevis es patveros!
10
Māci man pildīt tavu gribu, jo tu esi mans Dievs! Tavs Gars ir vēlīgs – ved mani pa līdzenu zemi!
11
Tava vārda dēļ, Kungs, dzīvini mani, savā taisnībā izpestī mani no posta
12
un savā žēlastībā iznīdē manus naidniekus, izdeldē manus pretiniekus, jo esmu tavs kalps!
