Toen antwoordde Bildad:

God regeert in zijn hoge hemel en bewaart daar de vrede. Hij heerst en Hij is ontzagwekkend.

Zijn leger is ontelbaar groot. Zijn licht schijnt op alle mensen.

Hoe kan een mens door God goed genoeg worden gevonden? Hoe zou een mens door Hem goedgekeurd kunnen worden?

Vergeleken bij God, schijnt zelfs de maan niet helder en is zelfs het sterrenlicht niet zuiver.

Dan is een mens dat al helemáál niet. Voor God is hij maar een worm.
