Ingoma yekhambo lokuya ethempelini. Somnini, cabangela uDavida, ngazo zoke iinhlupheko abekezele kizo,

nangalokho akufunga kuSomnini, iye, lokho akuthembisa kongonamandla kaJakopo,

ngokuthi: “Angisobe ngangena ngendlinami, namkha emalalwenami.
4
Angizukuvumela amehlwami alale, namkha iinkhopha zami zicimeze
5
bengifunyanele uSomnini indawo, iye, ubuhlalo bongonamandla kaJokopo.”
6
Qala, sezwa ngomfaji sise-Efrata; sawufunyana esifundeni seJeyarimu.
7
Ngalokho asiyeni endlinakhe, siguqe esinabelweni seenyawo zakhe.
8
Sikima Somnini! Yewuye endawenakho yokuphumula, wena nomfaji wamandlakho.
9
Inga abaphristi bakho bangembathiswa ukulunga nabathembekileko bakho bahlokome.
10
Ngebanga lencekwakho uDavida, ungafulatheli umzeswakho.
11
Ngeqiniso uSomnini wafunga kuDavida isifungo angeze asiphendukela. Wathi: “Omunye wamadodana wedini lakho, ngizambeka esihlalweni sakho sobukhosi.
12
Nangabe amadodanakho agcina isivumelwano sami neemfundiso engizawafundisa zona, khona-ke, amadodanawo, azakuhlala esihlalweni sakho sobukhosi mlibe.”
13
Mbala, uSomnini ukhethe iZiyoni; wathanda bona ibe sihlalo sakhe;
14
wathi: “Le yindawami yokuphumula isiphelani; lapha, ngizakuhlala khona, ngombana ngikuthandile.
15
Ngizakubusisa ukudla kwayo ngokuphuphumako; ngisuthise abachakileko bayo ngesikwa.
16
Abaphristi bayo ngizabembathisa isindiso, abathembekileko bayo bahlokome ngokwethaba.
17
Lapho-ke ngizakukhulisa amandla kaDavida; ngilungisele umzeswami isibani.
18
Izitha zakhe ngizazembathisa ihlazo, kodwana isihlohlo sakhe sihlale siqhakazile.”
