Načelniku godbe. Psalm Davidov. O Bog hvale moje, ne molči!

Kajti usta krivičnega in usta zvijačna so se odprla zoper mene, govorila so zoper mene z lažnivim jezikom;

in z besedami sovražnimi so me obdali, se vojskovali z menoj brez vzroka.

Za ljubezen mojo so mi črtilci, jaz pa stanovitno molim,

in vračajo mi hudo za dobro in sovraštvo za ljubezen mojo.

Postavi čezenj brezbožnika in protivnik naj mu stoji kot tožnik na desni.
7
Ko pride pred sodbo, odide naj obsojen; in molitev njegova bodi mu v greh.
8
Malo bodi dni njegovih in službo njegovo naj prejme drug.
9
Otroci njegovi naj bodo sirote in žena njegova bodi vdova.
10
In neprestano naj se klatijo in beračijo otroci njegovi in iščejo naj kruha daleč od podrtih bivališč svojih.

Upnik naj ga odere za vse, kar ima, in tujci naj uplenijo, kar si je pridobil.
12
Ne bodi mu nikogar, ki mu dobroto pomoli, in nihče naj ne izkaže usmiljenja sirotam njegovim.

Pokončan bodi zarod njegov, v drugem rodu bodi izbrisano njih ime.

V spominu bodi krivica očetov njegovih pri GOSPODU in greh matere njegove se ne izbriši.

Bodo naj vedno pred očmi GOSPODU, da iztrebi z zemlje njih spomin.

Zato ker ni maral izkazovati usmiljenja, ampak je preganjal moža ubogega in potrebnega in njega, ki mu je srce potrto, da ga usmrti.

In ljubil je prokletstvo, zato ga je zadelo, in ni se veselil blagoslova, zato mu je daleč ostalo.

Oblačil se je s prokletstvom kakor z oblačilom svojim, in šlo mu je v notranjščino kakor voda in kakor olje v kosti njegove.

Bodi mu torej kakor suknja, ki se ž njo ogrinja, in kakor pas, ki se ž njim vedno opasuje.

To bodi plačilo protivnikom mojim od GOSPODA in njim, ki hudo govoré zoper dušo mojo.

Ti pa, o Jehova Gospod, ravnaj milostno z menoj zavoljo imena svojega; ker je dobra milost tvoja, reši me!

Kajti ubožen sem in potreben, in srce moje je prebodeno v meni.
23
Kakor senca, ko se nagiblje, ginem; kakor kobilico me semtertja podé.
24
Kolena moja se šibé od posta in meso mi hujša, da ni več tolščobe.
25
Vrhutega sem jim v zasramovanje; ko me vidijo, majejo z glavo svojo.
26
Pomagaj mi, o GOSPOD, Bog moj, reši me po milosti svoji,
27
da spoznajo, da je to roka tvoja, da si ti, GOSPOD, to storil.
28
Preklinjajo naj, ti me blagoslavljaj! Ko se povzdignejo, bodo osramočeni, a hlapec tvoj se bo veselil.
29
Z nečastjo se morajo odeti protivniki moji in ogrniti se kakor s plaščem s sramoto svojo.
30
Hvalil bom močno z usti svojimi GOSPODA in sredi mnogih ga bom proslavljal,da stoji na desni siromaku, da ga reši njih, ki mu obsojajo dušo.
