Ne nam, GOSPOD, ne nam, temuč svojemu imenu daj čast, zaradi milosti svoje, zaradi resnice svoje!

Zakaj bi govorili pogani: Kje je torej njih Bog?

A Bog naš je v nebesih, stori vse, karkoli hoče.

Njih maliki pa so srebro in zlato, delo rok človeških.

Usta imajo, pa ne govore, oči imajo, pa ne vidijo,

ušesa imajo, pa ne slišijo, nos imajo, pa ne duhajo,

roke, pa ne tipajo, noge, pa ne hodijo, z grlom svojim še ne črhnejo.

Njim so podobni, ki jih delajo, vsi, ki vanje upajo.

Izrael, upaj v GOSPODA! Pomoč je tem in ščit je tem.
