Förbarma dig, Gud, i din nåd, stryk ut mina synder i din stora godhet.

Gör mig fri från all min skuld och rena mig från min synd.

Jag vet vad jag har brutit, min synd står alltid inför mig.

Mot dig, bara mot dig har jag syndat, jag har gjort det som är ont i dina ögon. Du har rätt när du ställer mig till svars, den dom du fäller är rättvis.
7
I skuld är jag född, i synd blev jag till i min moders liv.
8
Du som älskar ett uppriktigt hjärta, ge mig vishet i mitt innersta.
9
Rena mig med isop från min synd, tvätta mig vit som snö.
10
Låt mig få höra glädjerop och lovsång, låt den du har krossat få jubla.
11
Vänd bort din blick från mina synder, stryk ut all min skuld.
12
Skapa i mig, Gud, ett rent hjärta, ge mig ett nytt och stadigt sinne.
13
Driv inte bort mig från din närhet, ta inte ifrån mig din heliga ande.
14
Låt mig åter glädjas över att du räddar, håll mig uppe, ge mig ett villigt sinne.
15
Jag skall visa syndarna dina vägar, så att de vänder åter till dig.
16
Skydda mig mot blodsdåd, Gud, min räddare. Då skall jag jubla över din trofasthet.
17
Herre, öppna min mun, jag vill sjunga ditt lov.
18
Slaktoffer vill du inte ta emot, och ger jag dig brännoffer försmår du det.
19
Det offer du begär är ett förkrossat hjärta, en krossad och nedbruten människa förkastar du inte, o Gud.
20
Låt i din godhet allt gå Sion väl, bygg upp Jerusalems murar.
21
Då skall du få njuta rätta offer, brännoffer och heloffer, då skall unga tjurar offras på ditt altare.
