En bön av David. Hör mig, Herre, och svara mig, jag är hjälplös och fattig.

Beskydda mig, jag är trogen, rädda din tjänare, som förtröstar på dig. Du är min Gud,

förbarma dig, Herre, jag ropar till dig hela dagen.

Låt din tjänare glädjas, Herre, jag sätter mitt hopp till dig.
5
Ja, Herre, du är god, du förlåter, rik på kärlek till alla som åkallar dig.
6
Herre, lyssna till min bön, hör mig när jag ber.
7
I nödens stund ropar jag till dig, och du svarar mig.
8
Herre, bland gudarna är ingen som du, inga gärningar är som dina.
9
Alla de folk du har skapat skall komma och tillbe inför dig, Herre, och de skall ära ditt namn.
10
Ty du är stor, du gör under, du ensam är Gud.
11
Visa mig, Herre, din väg, så att jag kan vandra i din sanning. Lär mig att helhjärtat vörda ditt namn.
12
Jag vill tacka dig, Herre, min Gud, av allt mitt hjärta och alltid ära ditt namn,
13
ty din godhet mot mig är stor, du räddar mig ur dödsrikets djup.
14
Gud, de övermodiga angriper mig, en skara våldsmän står efter mitt liv. De räknar inte med dig.
15
Men du, Herre, är en barmhärtig och nådig Gud, sen till vrede och rik på kärlek och trofasthet.
16
Vänd dig till mig, var barmhärtig. Ge din tjänare kraft, rädda din tjänarinnas son.
17
Ge mig ett tecken på din godhet, och låt mina ovänner se det och blygas. Du, Herre, hjälper och tröstar mig.
