Herre, min Gud, till dig flyr jag.Rädda mig från alla mina förföljare, befria mig,

så att de inte som lejon sliter sönder min själ,rycker mig bort utan räddning.

Herre, min Gud, om jag har gjort detta,om orätt finns i mina händer,

om jag har lönat min vän med onteller plundrat min ovän utan orsak,

låt då fienden förfölja min själoch hinna upp mig,trampa mitt liv till jordenoch lägga min ära i stoftet. Sela.

Res dig, Herre, i din vrede,stå upp mot mina ovänners raseri!Vakna upp till min hjälp,du som har kallat till dom.

Låt skaran av folk samlas omkring dig,regera över dem från höjden.

Herren håller dom över folken.Döm mig, Herre,efter min rättfärdighet,efter den fullkomlighet som övertäcker mig.

Gör slut på de ogudaktigas ondska,låt den rättfärdige stå fast!Du som prövar hjärtan och njurar är en rättfärdig Gud.

Min sköld är hos Gud,han frälsar de rättsinniga.

Gud är en rättfärdig domare,en Gud som dagligen visar sin vrede.

Om någon inte vill omvända sigslipar han sitt svärd,sin båge spänner han och gör den redo.

Han gör i ordning sina dödande vapen,sina pilar gör han brinnande.
15
Se, han avlar ondska,han går havande med olycka,han föder lögn.
16
Han gräver en grop och gör den djup,men han faller själv i den grav han gräver.
17
Den olycka han tänkt utvänder tillbaka över hans huvud,på hans egen hjässa kommer hans ondska.Jag vill tacka Herren för hans rättfärdighetoch lovsjunga Herrens, den Högstes, namn.
