En psalm av Asaf.Gud, hednafolken har fallit in i din arvedel,de har orenat ditt heliga tempel,de har gjort Jerusalem till en stenhop.

De har givit dina tjänares kroppartill mat åt himlens fåglar,dina frommas kött åt markens djur.

De har utgjutit deras blod som vattenrunt omkring Jerusalem,ingen fanns som begravde dem.

Vi föraktas av våra grannar,vi hånas av dem som är omkring oss.

Hur länge, Herre?Skall du vredgas för evigt?Hur länge skall din iver brinna som eld?

Utgjut din vrede över hednafolkensom inte känner dig,över riken som inte åkallar ditt namn.

Ty de har ätit upp Jakoboch förstört hans boning.

Tillräkna oss inte våra fäders missgärningar,låt din barmhärtighet snart komma oss till mötes,ty vi har sjunkit mycket djupt.

Hjälp oss, du vår frälsnings Gud,för ditt namns äras skull!Rädda oss och förlåt oss våra synderför ditt namns skull!

Varför skulle hednafolken få säga:"Var är nu deras Gud?"Låt det inför våra ögon bli känt bland hednafolken,hur du hämnas dina tjänares utgjutna blod.

Låt de fångnas klagorop komma inför ditt ansikte,låt dödens barn få leva genom din starka arm.

Låt våra grannar få sjufalt igenför sina smädelser mot dig, Herre.

Vi som är ditt folk och får i din hjord,vi vill tacka dig för evigt,vi vill förkunna ditt lov från släkte till släkte.
