Ee Mwenyezi-Mungu, mkumbuke Daudi, kumbuka taabu zote alizopata.
2
Ukumbuke ahadi aliyokupa, ee Mwenyezi-Mungu, kiapo alichokuapia, ewe Mwenye Nguvu wa Yakobo:
3
“Sitaingia ndani ya nyumba yangu, wala kulala kitandani mwangu;
4
sitakubali kulala usingizi, wala kusinzia;
5
mpaka nikupatie wewe Mwenyezi-Mungu mahali pa kukaa, makao yako, ewe Mwenye Nguvu wa Yakobo!”
6
Huko Efratha tulisikia habari za sanduku la agano, tukalikuta katika mashamba ya Yearimu.
7
“Haya! Twende nyumbani kwa Mungu, tuabudu mbele ya kiti chake cha enzi!”
8
Inuka ee Mwenyezi-Mungu, nenda kwenye maskani yako; inuka pamoja na sanduku la agano la uwezo wako!
9
Makuhani wako wawe waadilifu daima; na waaminifu wako wapige vigelegele vya furaha!
10
Kwa ajili ya Daudi, mtumishi wako, usimkatae huyo mfalme uliyemweka wakfu.
11
Mwenyezi-Mungu alimwapia Daudi kiapo thabiti, kiapo ambacho hatakibatilisha: “Nitamtawaza mmoja wa wazawa wako mwenyewe, kuwa mfalme baada yako.
12
Watoto wako wakishika agano langu, na kuzingatia mafundisho nitakayowapa, watoto wao pia watakuwa wafalme kama wewe.”
13
Mwenyezi-Mungu ameuchagua mji wa Siyoni, ametaka uwe makao yake:
14
“Hapa ndipo nitakapokaa milele, ndipo maskani yangu maana nimepachagua.
15
Nitaubariki sana mji wa Siyoni kwa mahitaji yake; nitawashibisha chakula maskini wake.
16
Nitawafanikisha makuhani wake kwa wokovu; waaminifu wake watapiga vigelegele vya furaha.
17
Humo nitamchipusha mfalme shujaa wa ukoo wa Daudi: Kama taa iwakayo nitamtegemeza mfalme niliyemteua.
18
Maadui zake nitawavika aibu; lakini yeye nitamvika fahari ya kifalme.”
