In bátoṉ ke ba‘d Ḳhudáwand ká kalám royá meṉ Abrám par názil húá aur us ne farmáyá, Ai Abrám, tú mat ḍar: maiṉ terí sipar aur terá bahut baṛá ajr húṉ.

Abrám ne kahá, ki Ai Ḳhudáwand Ḳhudá, tú mujhe kyá degá? kyúṉki maiṉ to beaulád játá húṉ, aur mere ghar ká muḳhtár Damishqí Ilí‘azar hai.
3
Phir Abrám ne kahá, ki Dekh, tú ne mujhe koí aulád nahíṉ dí: aur dekh, merá ḳhánazád merá wáris hogá.
4
Tab Ḳhudáwand ká kalám us par názil húá aur us ne farmáyá: Yih terá wáris na hogá, balki wuh jo tere sulb se paidá hogá, wuh terá wáris hogá.
5
Aur wuh us ko báhar le gayá, aur kahá, ki Ab ásmán kí taraf nigáh kar, aur agar tú sitároṉ ko gin saktá hai, to gin: aur us se kahá, ki Terí aulád aisí hí hogí.
6
Aur wuh Ḳhudáwand par ímán láyá: aur ise us ne us ke haqq meṉ rástbází shumár kiyá.
7
Aur us ne us se kahá, ki Maiṉ Ḳhudáwand húṉ, jo tujhe Kasdíoṉ ke Úr se nikál láyá, ki tujh ko yih mulk mírás meṉ dúṉ.
8
Aur us ne kahá, ki Ai Ḳhudáwand Ḳhudá, maiṉ kyúṉkar jánúṉ ki maiṉ us ká wáris húṉgá?
9
Us ne us se kahá, ki Mere liye tín baras kí ek bachhiyá, aur tín baras kí ek bakrí, aur tín baras ká ek meṉḍhá, aur ek qumrí, aur ek kabútar ká bachcha le.
10
Aur us ne in sabhoṉ ko liyá, aur un ko bích se do ṭukṛe kiyá, aur har ṭukṛe ko us ke sáth ke dúsre ṭukṛe ke muqábil rakkhá: magar parandoṉ ke ṭukṛe na kiye.

Tab shikárí parande un ṭukṛoṉ par jhapaṭne lage, par Abrám un ko haṉkátá rahá.
12
Súraj dúbte waqt Abrám par gahrí nínd g̣álib húí; aur dekho, ek baṛí haulnák táríkí us par chhá gayí.
13
Aur us ne Abrám se kahá, ki Yaqín ján ki terí nasl ke log aise mulk meṉ, jo un ká nahíṉ, pardesí hoṉge, aur waháṉ ke logoṉ kí g̣ulámí kareṉge, aur wuh chár sau baras tak un ko dukh deṉge;

lekin maiṉ us qaum kí ‘adálat karúṉgá, jis kí wuh g̣ulámí kareṉge, aur ba‘d meṉ wuh baṛí daulat lekar waháṉ se nikal áeṉge.
15
Aur tú sahíh salámat apne bápdádá se já milegá, aur niháyat pírí meṉ dafn hogá.
16
Aur wuh chauthí pusht meṉ, yaháṉ lauṭ áeṉge; kyúṉki Amoríoṉ ke gunáh ab tak púre nahíṉ húe.
17
Aur jab súraj ḍúbá, aur andherá chhá gayá, to ek tanúr, jis meṉ se dhuwáṉ uṭhtá thá dikháí diyá aur ek jaltí mash‘al un ṭukṛoṉ ke bích meṉ se hokar guzrí.
18
Usí roz Ḳhudáwand ne Abrám se ‘ahd kiyá aur farmáyá, ki Yih mulk daryá e Misr se lekar us baṛe daryá, ya‘ní daryá e Furát tak,
19
Qainíoṉ aur Qanízíoṉ aur Qadmúníoṉ,
20
aur Hittíoṉ aur Farizzíoṉ aur Rifáíoṉ,
21
aur Amoríoṉ aur Kan‘áníoṉ aur Jirjásíoṉ aur Yabúsíoṉ samet maiṉ ne terí aulád ko diyá hai.
