Job prengué la paraula i digué:

Com has ajudat el dèbil i auxiliat el braç impotent!

Com has aconsellat l’indecís, i quant de seny has demostrat!

¿A qui has dirigit el discurs? ¿De qui ha vingut l’esperit que ha sortit de tu?
5
Les ombres dels morts es convulsen, més avall de les aigües, amb els seus habitants.
6
El país dels morts està nu davant Déu, i res no encobreix el sepulcre.
7
Déu estén el nord del cel sobre el buit, penja la terra sobre el no-res;
8
embolcalla les aigües en la seva nuvolada, sense que els núvols s’esquincin amb el pes.
9
Ell cobreix la faç del setial, desplegant-hi el seu núvol al da-munt;
10
ha establert un límit a la superfície de les aigües, fins on confinen la llum i les te-nebres.
11
Les columnes del cel es commouen, preses d’espant, quan ell renya.
12
Amb el seu poder va agitar la mar, i amb la seva intel·ligència va es-clafar Rahab;
13
amb el seu alè va asserenar el cel, la seva mà va traspassar la serp fu-gissera.
14
Heus aquí que aquest és l’esbós de la seva obra, però és feble el ressò que percebem d’ell. Qui pot comprendre el tro de la seva potència?
