(Oració d’un afligit quan, sentint-se defallir, esplaia la seva angoixa davant el Senyor.) Senyor, escolta la meva pregària, que el meu clam arribi fins a tu;
2
no m’amaguis la teva mirada, en moments d’angoixa, acosta a mi la teva atenció; ara que t’invoco, afanya’t a respon-dre’m!
3
Els meus dies s’esvaeixen com el fum, i els meus ossos es consumeixen com les brases.
4
El meu cor està decaigut com l’her-ba segada, i no tinc ni esma de menjar.
5
Els meus gemecs són tan grans que la pell se m’ha encastat als ossos.
6
M’assemblo al pelicà del desert, sóc com el mussol de les ruïnes;
7
no puc dormir, i sóc com un ocell solitari a la teulada.
8
Els enemics m’ultratgen contínuament, els detractors maleeixen en el meu nom.
9
En comptes de pa menjo cendra, i les llàgrimes se’m barregen amb la beguda;
10
per causa de la teva indignació i el teu furor m’has alçat i m’has rebatut per terra.
11
Els meus dies són com l’ombra que se’n va, i em vaig assecant com l’herba.
12
Però tu, Senyor, perdures per sempre, i el teu record de generació a generació.
13
Tu t’alçaràs, tindràs pietat de Sió, perquè ja és temps d’afavorir-la, ja n’és arribat el moment!
14
Que els teus servents estimen les seves pedres, i els dol el seu enrunament.
15
Llavors les nacions temeran el nom del Senyor, i tots els reis de la terra, la seva majestat;
16
quan el Senyor haurà reconstruït Sió, s’hagi mostrat en la seva glòria,
17
hagi atès l’oració del desvalgut i no hagi menyspreat les seves sú-pliques.
18
Serà escrit això per a les generacions futures, i un poble renovat donarà lloança al Senyor:
19
“Des del seu santuari excels ha estat atent; el Senyor, des del cel, ha mirat a la terra
20
per escoltar el plany dels presoners, per alliberar els sentenciats a mort,
21
a fi que es proclami a Sió el nom del Senyor, i la seva lloança a Jerusalem,
22
quan es reuneixin pobles i reialmes junts per venerar el Senyor.”
23
Ell ha debilitat la meva vigoria pel camí, ha escurçat els meus dies.
24
Però jo dic: “Déu meu, no em pren-guis a la meitat de la vida, que els teus anys duren per temps indefinit.
25
Al principi tu vas assentar la terra, i el cel és obra de les teves mans.
26
Ells passaran, però tu subsistiràs, tots ells s’envelleixen com la roba, tu els reemplaces com un vestit, i acabaran amb un canvi.
27
Però tu ets immutable, i els teus anys no tenen fi.
28
Els fills dels teus servents tindran habitatge, i la seva posteritat serà estable da-vant teu.”
