(De David.) Oposa’t, Senyor, contra els meus oponents, ataca els qui m’ataquen.
2
Pren l’escut petit i el gran, i alça’t per ajudar-me.
3
Desembeina la llança i barra el pas a l’escomesa dels meus perse-guidors; digues a la meva ànima: “Jo sóc la teva salvació.”
4
Que quedin defraudats i avergonyits els qui em volen prendre la vida, que reculin escarmentats els qui maquinen la meva dissort.
5
Que siguin com la palla davant la ventada, empaitats per l’àngel del Senyor;
6
que la seva ruta sigui de tenebres i precipicis, quan l’àngel del Senyor els perse-gueixi.
7
Perquè sense motiu m’han parat la seva xarxa, sense causa han excavat un clot per a mi.
8
Que els sobrevingui la desgràcia imprevista, que quedin agafats al parany que m’han preparat i s’enfonsin en la pròpia fossa.
9
Però la meva ànima exultarà en el Senyor, s’alegrarà en la seva salvació;
10
tots els meus ossos diran: “Senyor, qui és com tu, que deslliures l’oprimit del qui és més fort que ell, el pobre i desvalgut del seu espo-liador?”
11
Es presenten testimonis malèvols, m’inculpen de coses que desconec;
12
em tornen mal per bé, i em deixen sol.
13
I jo que, quan estaven malalts, vestia de dol, entristia la meva ànima amb dejunis, la meva oració em retrunyia en el pit;
14
ho feia com per un amic o un germà, com qui plora la mare m’encorbava entristit.
15
Però ells, quan jo he caigut, s’han reunit a celebrar-ho. S’han aplegat contra mi gent foras-tera, sense jo saber-ho, que em maltracten sense parar.
16
Cruelment fan escarni de mi i fan cruixir les dents contra meu.
17
Senyor, fins quan has de tolerar això? Defensa l’ànima meva dels seus estralls, la meva vida d’aquestes feres.
18
Et donaré gràcies en la gran congre-gació, davant la multitud et lloaré.
19
Que no es puguin alegrar per causa meva, els qui sense motiu són enemics meus, que els qui m’odien perquè si no es puguin fer l’ullet entre ells.
20
El parlar que ells tenen no és pas de pau: tramen projectes d’engany contra la gent pacífica del país.
21
Obren la seva boca contra mi, i diuen: “Oh, el que han vist els nostres ulls!”
22
Tu ho has vist, Senyor, no callis ara! No et mantinguis lluny de mi, Senyor!
23
Desvetlla’t i vigila a favor del meu dret, Déu meu i Senyor meu, defensa la meva causa.
24
Sentencia segons la teva justícia, Senyor, Déu meu, i que no es puguin alegrar a costa meva.
25
Que no puguin dir en el seu fur intern: “Això és el que volíem!” Que no puguin dir: “L’hem engo-lit!”
26
Que quedin burlats i avergonyits tots els qui s’alegren del meu mal; quedin coberts de vergonya i d’ignomínia els qui s’encoratgen contra mi.
27
Que exultin i s’alegrin els partidaris de la meva causa, i diguin sempre: “Glòria al Senyor, que s’agrada en el benestar del seu servent!”
28
I la meva llengua proclamarà la teva equitat i et lloarà en tot moment!
