(Del mestre de cant. Al to de “Xoixanim”. De David.) Salva’m, oh Déu, que l’aiguat m’arriba fins a l’ànima.
2
Estic ficat en un fangar profund i no tinc on posar el peu, em trobo al fons de les aigües i m’engoleix un remolí.
3
Estic esgotat de tant cridar, tinc la gola resseca; se m’han malmès el ulls de tant es-perar el meu Déu.
4
Són més que cabells tinc al cap els qui m’odien perquè sí; són poderosos els qui em volen perdre, els qui volen destruir-me sense motiu. ¿És que hauré de restituir el que no he robat?
5
Oh Déu, tu coneixes la meva insen-satesa, i les meves culpes no et són pas desconegudes.
6
Que no s’hagin d’avergonyir per culpa meva els qui confien en tu, Senyor, Déu de l’univers! Que no passin afront per culpa me-va els qui et busquen, Déu d’Is-rael!
7
És per tu que he tolerat l’oprobi, la vergonya em cobreix la cara;
8
pels meus germans sóc un foraster, un desconegut pels fills de la meva mare.
9
El zel de la teva casa em consumeix, i la befa dels qui t’insulten recau damunt meu.
10
Quan m’entristeixo i dejuno, serveixo de motiu d’escarni;
11
quan m’he posat roba de sac per vestit, m’he tornat la riota de tothom;
12
els qui seuen a la porta malparlen de mi, i em dediquen cançonetes els bor-ratxos.
13
Però jo alço a tu la meva pregària, Senyor, en el temps oportú; contesta’m, oh Déu ple de bondat, amb la fidelitat del teu auxili.
14
Treu-me del fang, que no m’en-fonsi; fes que m’escapi dels meus perse-guidors i de les aigües profun-des.
15
Que no m’ofegui l’aiguat, ni m’engoleixi l’abisme, ni tanqui el pou la seva boca sobre mi.
16
Escolta’m, Senyor, pel teu amor tan benigne; mira’m segons la teva gran clemència.
17
No neguis la mirada al teu servent, perquè em sento angoixat; cuita a respondre’m.
18
Apropa’t a la meva ànima, redi-meix-la; per causa dels meus enemics, rescata’m.
19
Tu coneixes el meu ultratge, tens present la meva vergonya i el meu oprobi, et són coneguts tots els meus con-traris.
20
L’escarni em trenca el cor i defa-lleixo. Esperava compassió, i no n’hi hagué, consoladors, i no n’he trobat.
21
Em van amargar el meu menjar, i quan tenia set em feren beure vinagre.
22
Que la taula parada se’ls torni una trampa, i allò que és el seu benestar, un parany!
23
Que se’ls ennuvoli la vista i no hi vegin; fes que flaquegin sempre els seus lloms!
24
Aboca damunt d’ells la teva indig-nació, i que els atrapi la teva ira.
25
Que el seu clos sigui devastat i no quedi ningú a les seves tendes!
26
Perquè han perseguit el qui tu has ferit, i augmenten el dolor dels qui tu has afligit.
27
Apila culpa sobre les seves culpes, que no aconsegueixin la teva jus-tícia;
28
que siguin esborrats de la llista dels vivents i no siguin inscrits amb els justos!
29
Però a mi, dissortat i sofrent, que el teu auxili, oh Déu, em pro-tegeixi!
30
Lloaré el nom de Déu amb càntics, i l’exalçaré amb accions de gràcies;
31
i això agradarà al Senyor més que el sacrifici d’un brau, o el d’un vedell ja fet.
32
Ho veuran els oprimits i se n’ale-graran; els qui cerqueu Déu, que revisqui el vostre cor,
33
que el Senyor escolta els desvalguts i no menysprea els seus captius.
34
Que el lloïn el cel i la terra, els mars i tot el que s’hi mou;
35
perquè Déu salvarà Sió i reedificarà les ciutats de Judà: hi habitaran i serà la seva propietat,
36
la descendència dels seus servidors l’heretarà, i els qui estimen el seu nom hi habitaran.
