Modlitba zkroušeného, když umdlévá a vylévá před Hospodinem svůj nářek.

Hospodine, slyš mou modlitbu, kéž k tobě pronikne mé volání o pomoc!

V den mého soužení neskrývej přede mnou svou tvář, nakloň ke mně své ucho. V den, kdy volám, mi rychle odpověz!
4
Mé dny minuly jako dým a mé kosti jsou rozpálené jak ohniště.
5
Mé srdce je ubité a schne jako bylina, i svůj chléb jíst zapomínám;
6
pro mé vzdychání přilnuly mi kosti k tělu.
7
Podobám se stepnímu pelikánu, jsem jako sova z rozvalin.
8
Nespím a jsem jako osamělý ptáček na střeše.
9
Celý den mě mí nepřátelé tupí. Potřeštěnci při mně přísahají.
10
Místo chleba jím popel, do svého nápoje přimíchávám slzy.
11
To od tvého rozhořčení a hněvu. Zvedl jsi mě a odvrhl jsi mě.
12
Mé dny jsou jako stín, který se prodlužuje, a já schnu jako bylina.
13
Ale ty, Hospodine, zůstáváš navěky; jsi připomínán od pokolení do pokolení.
14
Ty povstaneš, slituješ se nad Sijónem – vždyť nastal čas, aby ses nad ním smiloval; vždyť nadešla ta chvíle!
15
Vždyť tví otroci si oblíbili jeho kameny; jímá je lítost nad jeho sutinami.
16
Národy se budou bát Hospodinova jména a všichni králové země tvé slávy,
17
až Hospodin zbuduje Sijón a ukáže se ve své slávě,
18
až shlédne na modlitbu bezmocného, nepohrdne jejich modlitbami.
19
Toto je zapsáno pro budoucí pokolení. Lid, který bude stvořen, bude chválit Hospodina,
20
který shlédl ze svých svatých výšin. Hospodin pohlédl z nebes na zemi,
21
aby vyslyšel nářek vězňů a rozvázal syny smrti,
22
aby vypravovali na Sijónu o Hospodinově jménu a o jeho chvále v Jeruzalémě,
23
když se společně shromáždí národy i království, aby sloužily Hospodinu.
24
Cestou pokořil mou sílu a zkrátil mé dny.
25
Pravím: Můj Bože, neber mě uprostřed mých dnů – tvá léta jsou od pokolení do pokolení.
26
Dávno jsi založil zemi, nebesa jsou dílo tvých rukou.
27
Ta zaniknou, ale ty zůstaneš. Všechna jako roucho zvetší, vyměníš je jako plášť a budou proměněna.
28
Ale ty jsi stále týž – tvá léta nekončí.
29
Synové tvých otroků budou mít klid a jejich símě bude před tebou upevněno.
