Píseň stupňů. Hospodine, pamatuj na Davida, na všechnu jeho starostlivost,

jak přísahal Hospodinu, slib učinil Mocnému Jákobovu:

Nevejdu do stanu svého domu, nevstoupím na své lože,
4
nedám spánek svým očím, dřímotu svým víčkům,
5
dokud nenaleznu místo pro Hospodina, příbytky Mocnému Jákobovu.
6
Hle, slyšeli jsme o ní v Efratě, nalezli jsme ji na Jaarských polích.
7
Vstupme do jeho příbytků, klaňme se u podnože jeho nohou!
8
Povstaň, Hospodine, k místu svého odpočinku, ty i truhla tvé moci!
9
Tvoji kněží ať obléknou spravedlnost, tví věrní ať jásají!
10
Pro Davida, svého otroka, neodmítni svého pomazaného!
11
Hospodin přísahal Davidovi věrnost, neodvrátí se od ní: Dosadím na tvůj trůn z plodu tvých beder.
12
Jestliže tví synové budou zachovávat mou smlouvu a má svědectví, kterým je budu učit, i jejich synové budou sedět na tvém trůnu až na věky.
13
Hospodin totiž vyvolil Sijón, zatoužil mít jej za sídlo.
14
Toto je místo mého odpočinku až navěky, tady budu sídlit, neboť po něm toužím.
15
Velice požehnám jeho zásobám, jeho chudé budu sytit chlebem.
16
Jeho kněze oději spásou, jeho věrní budou radostně jásat.
17
Tam dám vyrůst Davidovu rohu, připravím lampu svému pomazanému.
18
Jeho nepřátele obléknu hanbou, ale na něm rozkvete jeho koruna.
