Iš Jesės kelmo išaugs atžala, iš jo šaknies pražys pumpuras.

Ant jo ilsėsis VIEŠPATIES dvasia: išminties ir įžvalgos dvasia, patarimo ir narsumo dvasia, pažinimo ir VIEŠPATIES baimės dvasia;

jo džiugesys bus VIEŠPATIES baimė. Jis teis ne pagal išorę, spręs ne pagal nuogirdas.

Pagal teisumą jis teis vargšus, nešališkai spręs krašto vargdienių bylas. Savo burnos rykšte nuplaks žemę, savo lūpų pūstelėjimu atneš mirtį nedorėliui.

Teisumas bus jo juosmens diržas, ištikimybė — strėnų juosta.

Tada vilkas viešės pas avinėlį, leopardas guls greta ožiuko. Veršis ir liūtukas maitinsis kartu: juos prižiūrės mažas vaikas.

Karvė ir lokė ganysis šalia, kartu gulės jų jaunikliai. Liūtas ės šiaudus kaip jautis.

Kūdikis žais prie angies landynės, mažylis kiš ranką į gyvatės urvą.

Visame mano šventajame kalne nebus vietos jokiai skriaudai nė jokiai niekšybei, nes žemė bus kupina VIEŠPATIES pažinimo, kaip jūra kupina vandenų.

Tą dieną Jesės šaknies, padarytos ženklu tautoms, ieškos pagonys, nes jos buveinė bus šlovinga.

Tą dieną Viešpats vėl išties ranką atsiimti savo tautos likučio, išlikusio Asirijoje ir Egipte, Patrose, Kuše, Etiopijoje, Elame, Šinare, Hamate ir jūros salose.

Jis duos ženklą tautoms, surinks Izraelio tremtinius. Sutelks Judo išblaškytuosius iš keturių pasaulio šalių.
13
Išgaruos Efraimo pavydas, Judo priešai bus sunaikinti. Efraimas nebepavydės Judui, o Judas nebebus priešas Efraimui.
14
Jie petys į petį puls filistinus vakaruose, kartu apiplėš kedemiečius. Edomas ir Moabas bus jų valdos, o Amonas — jų valdiniai.
15
VIEŠPATS nusausins Egipto jūros liežuvį, grūmos kumščiu Eufratui, ir savo deginančiu vėju padalys jį į septynias vagas. Jį bus galima pereiti su sandalais.
16
O mano tautos likučiui, išlikusiam Asirijoje, bus vieškelis, kaip buvo Izraeliui, kai jis atėjo iš Egipto žemės.
