Buvo metai, kai tartanas atžygiavo į Ašdodą, pasiųstas Asirijos karaliaus Sargono, puolė ir užėmė jį.

Pirma VIEŠPATS buvo kalbėjęs Amoco sūnui Izaijui: „Eik, nusijuosk ašutinę nuo juosmens ir nusiauk sandalus nuo kojų“. Taip šis ir padarė — vaikščiojo nuogas ir basas.

Dabar VIEŠPATS tarė: „Tai ženklas ir įspėjimas Egiptui ir Kušui. Kaip mano tarnas Izaijas trejus metus vaikščiojo nuogas ir basas,

taip ir Asirijos karalius varys belaisvius iš Egipto bei tremtinius kušitus, jaunus bei senus, nuogus ir basus, plikais užpakaliais — Egipto gėdai!“

Tada jūs patirsite išgąstį ir gėdą dėl Kušo, į kurį buvote sudėję viltis, ir dėl Egipto, kuriuo didžiavotės.

Tą dieną šio pajūrio gyventojai sakys: „Žiūrėkite, kas nutiko tiems, kuriais pasitikėjome ir pas kuriuos bėgome, ieškodami išgelbėjimo nuo Asirijos karaliaus! Kaip išsigelbėti dabar?“
