Een psalm van David. HEERE, ik roep U aan, kom spoedig tot mij, neem mijn stem ter ore, wanneer ik tot U roep.

Laat mijn gebed als reukwerk voor Uw aangezicht staan, laat mijn opgeheven handen als het avondoffer zijn.
3
HEERE, zet een wacht voor mijn mond, behoed de deur van mijn lippen.
4
Laat mijn hart zich niet neigen naar een slechte zaak, om goddeloze daden te verrichten met mannen die onrecht bedrijven; en laat mij niet eten van hun lekkernijen.
5
Slaat de rechtvaardige mij, het zal een gunst zijn, bestraft hij mij, het zal olie op mijn hoofd wezen, mijn hoofd zal het niet weigeren; dan nog is mijn gebed voor hen in al hun ellende.
6
Hun rechters zijn bij de rotswand vrijgelaten, zij hebben gehoord hoe aangenaam mijn woorden waren.
7
Onze beenderen liggen verstrooid bij de mond van het graf, alsof iemand op de grond iets gekloofd en gespleten had.
8
Maar op U zijn mijn ogen gericht, HEERE Heere; tot U heb ik de toevlucht genomen, laat mijn ziel niet berooid achter.
9
Bewaar mij voor de knellende strik die zij mij gezet hebben, voor de valstrikken van wie onrecht bedrijven.
10
Laat de goddelozen in hun eigen netten vallen, allemaal, totdat ík voorbij ben gegaan.
