O God, U had ons verstoten, U had ons verbroken, U bent toornig geweest; keer terug tot ons.

U hebt het land doen beven, U hebt het gespleten; genees zijn breuken, want het wankelt.

U hebt Uw volk een harde zaak doen zien, U hebt ons bedwelmende wijn laten drinken.

Maar nu hebt U een banier gegeven aan wie U vrezen, om die op te heffen als teken van de waarheid, Sela

opdat Uw beminden gered worden. Verlos door Uw rechterhand en antwoord ons.

God heeft gesproken in Zijn heiligdom, daarom zal ik van vreugde opspringen; ik zal Sichem verdelen, het dal van Sukkoth zal ik opmeten.

Gilead is van mij, Manasse is van mij, Efraïm de bescherming voor mijn hoofd, Juda is mijn wetgever.

Moab is mijn waskom, op Edom zal ik mijn schoen werpen. Juich over mij, Filistea!

Wie zal mij brengen in een versterkte stad? Wie zal mij leiden tot in Edom?
12
Zult U het niet zijn, o God, Die ons verstoten had en niet met onze legers uittrok, o God?
13
Geef ons hulp uit de benauwdheid, want heil van een mens te verwachten is nutteloos.
14
Met God zullen wij krachtige daden doen; Híj zal onze tegenstanders vertrappen.
