Så seier HERREN: Sjå, vatnet stig frå nord og blir til ei fløymande elv, ho fløymer over landet og alt som fyller det, byane og dei som der bur. Menneska skrik, alle som bur i landet, jamrar.

For dei høyrer hovslag frå sterke hestar, vogner som ramlar og hjul som dundrar. Fedrane ser seg ikkje om etter borna, hendene er slappe.

For no er dagen komen då filistrane skal øydeleggjast, då alle i Tyros og Sidon som slapp unna og kunne hjelpa, skal ryddast ut. For HERREN øydelegg filistrane, dei som er att frå Kaftor-kysten.
