O, Doamne, Tu ne-ai lepădat! Ne-mprăștii, căci Te-ai mâniat! Doamne, îndură-Te de noi Și ne ridică iar, apoi!

Pământul l-ai cutremurat Și-n urmă Tu l-ai despicat. Acum se clatină. Privește! Drege-i spărtura și-l oprește!
3
Prin lucruri grele, l-ai făcut Pe-al Tău popor de a trecut. Ai adăpat a noastră fire Cu vinul cel de amorțire.
4
Doamne, un steag, apoi, ai dat Acelor cari au arătat Precum că teamă au de Tine, Ca înălțat să-l poată ține Spre biruința-adevărată Care din adevăr se-arată.
5
Pentru-a putea fi izbăviți Cei care Îți sunt prea iubiți, Prin dreapta Ta, Tu scapă-ne Degrabă, și ascultă-ne!

Iată că glasul Domnului Vorbit-a în sfințenia Lui: „Nu mai e mult și biruiesc: Sihemul am să-l împărțesc Și-am să măsor ținutul tot, Cari este al văii Sucot.

Ținutul Galaadului Se dovedește-al Domnului. Al meu, Manase se arată, Iar Efraimul – totodată – Tărie-i e capului Meu. Iuda Îmi este, tot mereu, Al Meu toiag de cârmuire.

Despre Moab, să aveți știre Că drept lighean Eu l-am luat, Ce-Mi este bun pentru spălat. Peste Edom – luați aminte – Arunc a Mea încălțăminte. În urmă, țara cea pe care Neamul de Filisteni o are, Din a Mea pricină-o să fie Plină numai de bucurie!”

Dar cine e acela care Mă va lua pe mine, oare, Să văd cetatea întărită, Cu ziduri ‘nalte-mprejmuită? Dar cine e acela care, Către Edom, mă duce oare?

Nu ești Tu, Doamne, oare-Acel Care ne-ai lepădat și-astfel, Oștirea noastră nu voiești În bătălie s-o-nsoțești?
11
Nu Îți întoarce-al Tău obraz, Ci ajutor dă-ne-n necaz, Căci ajutorul omului Zadarnic e, ca truda lui.
12
Doar Dumnezeu e-Acela cari Ne-ajută-a face isprăvi mari. Vrăjmașii, o să ni-i zdrobească Și are să îi nimicească.
